This Privacy Policy explains how Sintesys Student collects, uses, stores, protects, and manages user data. Sintesys Student is a student academic service application used to access academic information, class schedules, attendance, announcements, and related services within Universitas Siliwangi.

2. Data We Process
Sintesys Student may process the following types of data:
- Account identity data: name, student number, email address, account ID, study program, faculty, degree level, student status, and other account attributes from the university academic system or SSO.
- Academic data: class schedule, course registration, academic results, grades, GPA, study progress, academic advisor, academic calendar, and academic documents available through Sintesys.
- Attendance data: class meetings, attendance status, attendance time, QR code or attendance code, location validation, and technical records needed to prevent attendance abuse.
- Location data: device location when location-based attendance is used. Location is used to validate whether attendance is submitted within the designated area.
- Camera data: camera access is used to scan attendance QR Codes. The app does not store photos or videos from the camera unless clearly stated in a specific feature.
- Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, notification token, access logs, crash logs, and diagnostic data for security and service improvement.
- Support communication data: messages, attachments, or information submitted when users contact support.
3. How Data Is Collected
- From the university SSO/GAPURA or official authentication service when users sign in.
- From academic systems and internal services connected to Sintesys.
- From user input in certain features, such as support requests or data update requests.
- From device permissions, such as camera, location, and notifications, only when related features are used.
- From server and application technical logs for security, audit, and service improvement.
4. Purposes of Use
- Authenticate and authorize users.
- Display profiles, class schedules, academic records, grades, attendance, and student services.
- Validate QR Code and/or location-based attendance.
- Send academic notifications, announcements, and service information.
- Maintain system security, detect misuse, and conduct audits.
- Handle reports, questions, and support requests.
- Comply with academic, administrative, legal, and regulatory obligations.

6. Data Sharing
We do not sell user personal data and do not use academic data for third-party advertising.
Data may be shared in limited circumstances with:
- Authorized internal units of Universitas Siliwangi for academic services, administration, security, or user support.
- Technical service providers that help operate the application, such as hosting, notifications, technical analytics, or crash reporting, only as necessary and under the controller's instructions.
- Authorities or other parties when required by applicable law or regulation.
7. Storage and Retention
Official academic data, such as course registration, grades, attendance, and study history, is retained according to academic administration, records management, and applicable regulations of Universitas Siliwangi.
Operational app data, such as notification tokens, device sessions, technical logs, and support tickets, is retained as long as needed to provide services, maintain security, resolve issues, or comply with legal obligations.
Users may request correction, restriction, or deletion of certain data through the Access Deactivation and Non-Academic Data page. Some official academic records may not be deleted where retention is required for academic, legal, audit, or records purposes.
8. Data Security
We apply reasonable security measures, including encrypted connections, access control, role restrictions, monitoring, activity logging, and server safeguards. However, no electronic system is completely risk-free.
9. User Rights
Users may request to:
- know what data is processed through the application;
- correct inaccurate data according to university procedures;
- withdraw device permissions, such as location, camera, or notifications, through device settings;
- request deletion or restriction of certain data where permitted by academic and legal requirements;
- contact the controller for privacy-related questions.
10. Children
Sintesys Student is intended for students and authorized users of Universitas Siliwangi. The application is not primarily directed to children.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with the latest update date.
